Friends and Neighbours

Friends and neighbours
An unprotected border makes us good neighbours
No fences or snares do we have only a thin divide
Blessed we are to be friends far and wide
North America thrives on freedom forever
Good health and happiness for all at the border
Hands reach over a thin line where hearts meet
Many stories we share as cousins across one and other
A great history we have together with peace and respect
Pictures on either side look the same we have no shame
Lest we forget our battles as one making our enemies run
Strength in numbers across two borderless countries
The world envies a lasting friendship two respectful nations
Proud to be friends and neighbours with caring hearts
Never a line should to be drawn between us at sunset
Let us remain friends and neighbours thou we haven’t met
Unprotected border is unique in a world of indifference
Brothers and sisters forever peaceful we shall remain
